Molecular Diagnostic Testing is a rapidly growing field of Anatomic Pathology. Eastside Pathology, Inc. is committed to providing the latest innovations in health care testing. Our Molecular Pathology Lab offers the latest advancements in cervical cancer screening through an HPV DNA test and HPV 16/18 genotype in addition to a liquid-based Pap test for women. By using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), low levels of Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhea (NG) and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 and Type 2 (HSV1 / 2) DNA can be amplified and detected from the same liquid-based Pap sample.

The Molecular Department is made up of ASCP and NCA certified Medical Technologists. Our primary goal is to provide accurate results in a timely manner while offering newly developed tests using the latest technology.
